Steel Horse
SCC member, James Korpan and Dale Hicks finished a major collaborative commission consisting of 2 steel horses, taking 11 months to complete. Part of this commission included a steel sculpture of a twice life size Sand Hill Crane, which was produced prior to the horses. The half-size polished steel pony was unveiled at the Saskatchewan Craft Council this spring, as part of the 330 Design Exhibition - curated by the late, Lee Baker.

There was a short revealing of this majestic, life size steel horse at the annual 330 Design Fall Show on November 8th, dedicated to Lee Baker. The horse will be put out to pasture at itís new home in the country, along side the pony, South of Saskatoon.

SaskTel Max shot a short video vignette on the making of the small horse and James Korpanís work process. It was available to view on SaskTel Max, On Demand this past spring.
